Melissa Montiel, MS, CCC-SLP, is a pediatric speech-language pathologist at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). She earned her BS from Auburn University and her MS from MUSC.
With 10 years of clinical experience, Melissa has been an active member of MUSC’s cleft and velopharyngeal insufficiency (VPI) team for the past 9 years. She treats a diverse patient population across both acute care and outpatient settings.
Melissa has participated in international cleft care missions with the Global Smile Foundation, traveling to El Salvador and Africa to support communities with limited access to specialized services. She also attends the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association’s annual meetings to stay current on research and treatment practices. Unlimited
