Lissa Power-deFur serves Department Chair and Graduate Program Director at Longwood University, where she teaches ethics and professional issues . Prior to joining Longwood, Power-deFur worked at the Virginia Department of Education in special education, student services, and policy. Lissa received her bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in speech-language pathology at the University of Virginia. She is an ASHA and SHAV Fellow and regularly volunteers for the profession. She served on the ASHA Board of Ethics and on the ASHA Board of Directors as Vice President of Standards and Ethics in Speech-Language Pathology (2014-16). She has presented on ethical dilemmas and decision-making at a variety of conferences and on-line workshops. Unlimited
