Laura, MS, CCC-SLP, CBIS, is a certified speech-language pathologist and brain injury specialist with a deep personal and professional commitment to neurorehabilitation. After earning her master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Tennessee in 2012, she began her clinical fellowship in Frederick, Maryland.
Midway through her fellowship, Laura sustained a moderate-to-severe brain injury as a buckled passenger in a serious motor vehicle accident. Her long rehabilitation journey gave her a rare dual perspective—both as a provider and as a recipient of speech-language services. She has since shared her reflections through published articles and dozens of multimedia presentations.
Laura completed her fellowship at Head Injury Rehabilitation and Referral Services (HIRRS) in Rockville, Maryland, where she also earned her Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS) credential. Today, she leads both individual and group therapy sessions at HIRRS, driven by a passion to help others rediscover hope and resilience after brain injury. Unlimited
