Janine Benner received her bachelors and masters degrees from California State University Long Beach. She has been a practicing speech language pathologist for 30 years with the last 23 years working in pediatrics. She is an Assistant Professor and Assistant Clinical Coordinator at Loma Linda University in the department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. She has developed and teaches undergraduate courses in autism spectrum disorders, language disorders in children and a graduate level course Issues in Public School Speech Pathology. She also developed and taught an SLPD course in Neurodiversity. Janine also developed and runs an online parent/caregiver support group , Your Village, where she collaborates with team members from Loma Linda University and local community professionals to provide quality education on a broad range of topics related to autism and build resilience in families through a network of support, education and resources. Janine is one of the faculty supervisors for two of the department's pediatric clinics, autism and early intervention. In both of these clinics she utilizes parent coaching techniques and parent mediated treatment approaches.
