Dr. Hyunjoo Chung earned her M.A. and Ph.D. in speech pathology from Kent State University and M.A. in Linguistics from Michigan State University. Hyunjoo graduated from Yonsei University, Korea with a B.A. in Education before coming to the US. In 2020, she founded Chung Speech and Swallowing Therapy in Carrollton, Texas. In addition to running her business as a sole proprietor, she works as a PRN speech pathologist at Medical City Dallas Hospital, Medical City Heart and Spine Hospital, and LifeCare Hospital of Plano. In her private practice, she specializes in dysphagia, apraxia, aphasia, and dysarthria as well as Parkinson’s speech and voice. Prior to starting her private practice, she worked as an SLP for 16 years in various settings including acute rehab hospitals and adult and pediatric outpatient clinics.
